花枝幼生飼養

[花枝大問哉] 春天就是花枝小朋友大爆發的時節, 不少水族愛好者會在這時後由漁港或是水族街得到花枝卵, 孵化之後就開始嘗試一般魚類愛吃的小型水蚤等做餌料, 然後發現都不進食。所以, 這個時節常常會收到這類的詢問:

平常餵食只餵蝦子是否會營養不良?

簡單的回覆如下:
初生的花枝只喜歡吃在地上走來走去的蝦子, 水中抖來抖去的水蚤或是轉來轉去的豐年蝦都沒有辦法引起他們的興趣。

所以必須要合適體型的小蝦子, 所以就要看你養的種類而定了。 以最常見的虎斑烏賊為例, 最方便的就是剛剛出的淡水黑殼蝦, 但是淡水食物會缺一些營養, 必須另外做營養強化或是至少偶爾供應海水食物。且花枝吃飽就不吃了, 淡水蝦只能在海水中撐1-2個小時, 所以必須少量多餐, 如果沒有合適的海水蝦苗可以供應吃到飽, 一個月內的虎斑烏賊一天必須至少餵四次, 每次2-3隻蝦子。

初生花枝花枝的食慾與孵化狀況很有關係, 在人為環境之下可能早孵了(早產兒), 雖然看起來很好像正常, 但是這種早產兒通常抓食行為很弱或是根本不會進食。

一個月大之後的花枝, 除了隨著體型改變食物的大小, 餵食菜單也需要多樣化, 因為他們也會有吃膩食物的問題, 天天都蝦子吃到飽會使他們食慾低落。雖然人養比不上大海, 常備4-5種食物輪流是必須的。

Abstract

Several Pacific 2-spot octopuses (Octopus bimaculoides) shipped from California and held in a recirculating seawater system at Illinois College exhibited an unusual postshipping stress behavior not previously documented in the literature. Ink, normally ejected into the surrounding seawater, was uncharacteristically retained in the mantle cavity. We describe the resulting behaviors, discuss successful resuscitation efforts, and briefly consider the possible role(s) that ink may have played in the death of one octopus.
